Welcome to Cool Tools. I'm in the process of unpacking my new machine. I got my old embroidery machine packed away and ready for when my niece wants it back. So it sits in the closet in it's blue rolling bag.
With the new machine, I need a container to store all of my feet and the itty bitty nick-nacks, like spool caps, etc. I hate storing the feet, etc., on/in the machine. It always ends up with me having to undo something i'm working on. UGH!
I came up with a solution a few machines ago and do this for every machine I own. it's cheap, durable, and clever. This ensures you have everything at your fingertips and all in one place.
Are you ready?
Yep, a plastic tackle box. I buy the kind that flexible compartments. The box arrives with the long compartments and then I cut up the little inner "tabs" to make the right sized compartments for my feet/tools. For easy identification I write my name and my machine name on the front of the box so I know which machine it's for.
Easy peasy. Now this wont work with the feet attached to the shank (i.e. Bernina feet), but it's a great way to store those snap-on feet. See all those spots for goodies? Love it!
And what am I doing today? I'm trying to plan a quilt backing and reading the new machine's user manuals. Yesirree, I have three to read. I want to be sure I know what I'm doing before I touch the machine. My hand sewing that sits on the end of the sofa will have to wait for another day.
Now that's some fancy footwork!

So wish I had been there to watch you fill your tackle box :) Love the pix of the fireplace!

What kind of embroidery machine did you get?! You can't just say "I'm unpacking my new machine" and drop it at that! Inquiring minds want to know...
