Evening Bloom Progress
This is where I am so far with the Evening Bloom quilt. I have one flower on the last set of three panels fused and a block and 2 flowers to go before I do my itty bitty blanket stitch around the flower parts and put the top together.
I have to say that I made several mistakes on this quilt so far, but I'm not going to point them out or sweat it. I'm too far into it to make a change. I guess you could say that I'm giving this quilt "character". After all this is only for me, and I only need to please myself. And I love this quilt for the process, foibles and all. This is the real world of quilting.
This pattern requires a lot of work in the beginning. I suggest you set aside two good days to plan and cut the flower pieces, then get them organized. That's the trick with this quilt. Oh, and working up the fans. The rest is easy peasy. The assembly is really not as difficult as you would think.
Unless you're scatter-brained like me. LOL!
The three-day sew-in/retreat was a blast. I got to meet more of my fellow Stray Threads guild members. These ladies are so talented and so fun! I haven't laughed this hard in ages!!! (Really!!!!) I have definitely found my home with this group. And for that I feel blessed.

Very nice! Jean. You are doing a terrific job. Isn't it nice to reach the stage in quilting where a mistake can be overlooked or becomes a design element! I agree that the prep work for applique is the tedious part.
It's nice, too, that you have a wonderful guild to sew with. That's half the fun of quilting. Keep up the good work.
Look'n Good!! So pretty in your colorways! Nothing and no one is perfect! Your quilt will be beautiful! I no longer stress over such things, just do my best and be happy with it! I do my blanket stitch through the layers as part of my quilting. How nice to be able to be with kindred spirits! Sure you all are having a blast indeed!!!
Wow...that's going to be a great quilt!
So glad you're enjoying the quilt group. Your quilt top is lovely, don't worry about the "mistakes" but let them be part of its charm. Hugs!
Absolutely beautiful!
No one will know that there are mistakes. It's too beautiful and jaw dropping to notice.
