So today the parades and partying is crazy in many cities around the globe. It's Fat Tuesday, the big feast day before the Christian Lenten season begins. Folks are enjoying parades, pancake breakfasts, and tons of revelry. Before the seriousness of Lent begins tomorrow.
I've lowered the boom on myself, no fabric purchases for 40 days. Can I make it? Or will I cave? The kicker is that we also have a HUGE show in March. Lord, give me strength! LOL! Seriously, this will force me to work from my own stash. It's a good thing.

I celebrated "Fat (Quarter) Tuesday at the local quilt shop. Plus did more shopping yesterday, too!
Gotta be prepared.
I need some blue and red traditional prints to work into my Evening Bloom quilt. So I strolled over to Gathering Fabric to find some lovelies. I'll be working on that this weekend at my guild sew-in (three days of fun!). I've decided to raw edge applique (versus another applique method) the flowers on this to get it done. This project has hung around long enough. Also in that stack is some black and reds to go with another quilt I'm planning, and the orange is for yet another quilt I'm planning. I bought these yesterday along with a really cute chicken fabric that I'll be gifting.
While I was in Seattle today, I had hubby stop by The Quilting Loft in the Ballard neighborhood. (Cheryl, it was great to run into you!) I like how this store makes up their own FQ bundles, so I picked up some of Pat Bravo's Rock and Romance and some Gallery in Red (Thelma, I know you'd love that! LOL!). I've been lusting after the reds. I also want the blues, as I would like to create a patriotic quilt from both of those fabric lines. We'll see.
This store gears the impulse items just for me. I just know it. They had a box of these charms, all assorted scraps, so I bought three of those to make a fun scrappy quilt. Why is it that everyone else's scraps always look better than yours? I also got a cute little mini scrap bundle for a quick gift.
So tune in. Some sewing will be going on. I hope it will be less stashing. LOL!
Speaking of shows, the big Expo is coming up in Puyallup, WA. Gathering Fabric in Woodinville is offering Limo shuttle for the Friday of the show. Can't beat that deal! No driving, no parking... I've got my seminar tickets, too! I booked seminars to keep me from shopping. Plus, I'd rather learn than shop. (Hee hee! There's a method to my madness!)
