Three day sew-in retreat

First off, three days into the lenten season, I haven't bought any fabric. So, so far I'm good!

I'm sooo excited about today.

Going to get my applique on and make a bold attempt to finish my Evening Bloom quilt top. Yes, this project has hung out in my UFO pile long enough.

I was horribly stuck on the applique method and I decided to switch the method and move forward. While I'll do traditional applique for the fan blades, the flowers will be raw-edge applique.  I know, it's probably a no-no to mix methods, but I just can wrap myself around the fusible interfacing turn out method that I started. It just wasn't working for me. (Hence the reason why it became a UFO).

Sometimes you just gotta add another method to the arsenal to get a project done.

I'm also hoping to demo some fun tricks with Mistyfuse. There was a lady at the guild meeting last week who never heard of the product and I was telling her about it. I'm hoping she'll be there this weekend. If you've never used the stuff, you're in for a treat. Mistyfuse is paperless fusible. That stuff is fun to play with. You can even make fabric from a Kleenex using the stuff! I kid you not!!!!

Been having some issues with my right hand. I'm sporting a splint. Of course, you know me. I can't let it go without some "bling". And yes, it had to be Kaffe!

I'm thinking this will make it's guild premiere... Just to be crazy! Stay tuned...

I have used mistyfuse, and if you have ideas in using it in other ways, I hope you will be posting about it. Hope you wrist feels better soon, love what you've done with the splint.

You'll be looking very royal with you Kaffe embellished brace!
I've tried Mistyfuse and love it for some things. A bit of a learning curve without the paper, but good stuff.

Hope that wrist improves with the brace soon. Lovely pattern and fabrics. I use Heat n Bond Lite and love it for my applique projects Started that way back when with Pat Sloan. I use this method on all my applique. No needle turn or other methods... works for me and wash up just fine too. Hope you are off having fun today! I want to sew but can't, have to get ready for the visitors tomorrow and more yucky snow mess!

I love that you jazzed up your brace, but I hope you don't need it long!
