Projects in Progress: Critter's Quilt
Tuesday I went to group therapy, aka sewing with the ladies, at the local Ben Franklin in Monroe, WA. I missed the week before (traveling) and missed everyone.
I want to take this moment to thank the Monroe, WA Ben Franklin for all they do. They do so much for our community! Thank you!
On Tuesday I started a quilt for my future granddaughter. She is due in early November. I've got a lot to do before then. I have her quilt to make, as well as some 18" doll clothes made for her big sister. I don't want her to feel left out. My goal is to have this stuff done and shipped before our visit in November.
The moment I saw the Riley Blake Red Riding Hood line at Gathering Fabric in nearby Woodinville, WA, I knew this was the fabric for the quilt. For extra measure I threw in a red gingham (from Pam Kitty Morning) and another print from Mary Jane Butters' Glamping line for the backing (the bottom one -- it's perfect and it was 40% off thanks to an awesome coupon deal at BF!).
This pattern looks like a fun, fat quarter friendly pattern, so I'm working on my own variation. You know I had to make it mine. It's easy, just quarter square triangles and nine patches. I might throw in some fussy cut single fabric blocks as well.
So yes, I'm alive. I am sewing, and it is all good!
Hope all is well with y'all!
